Caroline & Jordan’s Bartram’s Garden wedding took place just last Sunday. Caroline works at the Bartram’s Garden so she knows the grounds very well. They had a unique wedding ceremony and reception. The ceremony was done in the Quaker tradition where the bride and groom are the ones who marry each other without an officiant. The ceremony started in silence as Caroline & Jordan entered the circle of family and friends gathered on the boardwalk by the Schuylkill river. For the first couple of minutes everyone sat in silence listening to the birds chirping while the wind rustled the leaves of the trees. It was very peaceful. Then several family members and friends took turns either giving a reading or well wishes to the bride and groom before Caroline & Jordan said their vows to each other. It was a beautifully simple and heartfelt wedding. Next came the reception in the barn catered by Philadelphia’s Local 215 Food Truck. Jordan is very into food. He enjoys preparing it, cooking it and of course eating it. The appetizers and entrees that were made by the crew of the Local 215 Food truck were simply incredible. As you can see in this post, I was quite impressed as there are several photos of the various choices food choices. Bocce was played on the lawn, toasts were given in the barn, dancing happened inside and out and at the end of the night Caroline and Jordan cut and then served to their guests the wedding cake that they had baked themselves. I loved everything about this wedding and It was a pleasure to be a part of it. Congratulations Caroline & Jordan. Enjoy your wedding photos.
