Caitlin & Matt’s Wedding at Stella of New Hope

A blonde woman in a white dress with a pendant necklace stands face-forward, while a bearded man in a black suit with a white flower boutonniere stands closely next to her, looking at her. This picturesque moment unfolds at Stella of New Hope in Bucks County.

Caitlin & Matt’s wedding at Stella of New Hope was a wet one. It rained and rained and rained some more. Rainy days in this part of the country are fairly frequent. In fact, it’s raining as I type this right now. So what? So, best to be prepared. And that means not only prepared with umbrellas and possible transportation so that you don’t have to walk on the wet sidewalks and streets near your wedding venue, but also prepared mentally to accept the fact that rain is nothing that you or anyone else can control. It’s one of those “this is happening, deal with it” situations. We have photographed dozens of rainy wedding days and the only way the rain gets in the way in any significant way is if the couple let it affect their moods and outlook for the day. We always try to tell couples that yes, the rain is an unwelcome guest and it’s definitely not what you had anticipated but that it won’t affect the photos because we can make beautiful images for you on rainy days and truth be told, the rain adds some photographic opportunities that aren’t there on cloudless “perfect” days. Really the wedding ceremony and reception were most likely always going to be taking place indoors and when you think about it the rain isn’t even impacting like 80% of the time your guest will be at the wedding. The ceremony is still taking place. The dinner, reception and the dancing are still happening in the exact same location that they were planned to happen. So what has changed if it rains on your wedding day? Not a whole lot when you really think about it. You’re going to remember the ceremony, time spent with your wedding party, interactions with family and of course the dancing! Caitlin & Matt approached their day in such a great way so as to not let the less than ideal weather influence their moods. We told them that we would take the stress off of them and carry it with us regarding where we would go for dry photo locations. And we found some really beautiful spots for the couple. And as we always say, at the end of the day….they were married and had a blast doing it together and with all of their family and friends. Thank you for inviting us into your lives for the day Caitlin & Matt. And thank you for trusting your wedding day memories to us. All our best to you both!
