Alison & Sam’s Horticulture Center wedding took place just last Sunday. It was a good thing we were all in the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center for most of the day because it was a wee bit nippy outside, only a day after it was 75º and sunny. This place is so beautiful for a wedding. It’s spacious, varied and totally unique. On chilly days it can be a welcome respite from the cold. After all, the event space is in an actual greenhouse….nice & toasty. As far as photography lighting goes it doesn’t get any better than the afternoon light inside the greenhouse at the horticultural center. Everything is filtered evenly and beautifully through the glass ceiling which makes all of our photos look perfect right out of the cameras.
Alison & Sam started their day off in Center City Philadelphia as they preparred for the day at The Marriott Courtyard Philadelphia Downtown which sits directly across the street from City Hall. Naturally we set up the first look at City Hall since we were basically already on the property. Like I said, it was cold last week so we didn’t make it too long before the warmth and comfort of the Horticultural Center was calling for us. Once inside the center we finished up the photos with the wedding party before the ceremony in the main greenhouse. Alison & Sam read the vows that they had written to each other in front of about 175 of their close family and friends before Sam broke the glass at the end of the ceremony. The cocktail hour lead into a loud and thumping reception driven by the brass instruments of The West Philadelphia Orchestra. This crew played the crowd into a frenzied Hora to start the evening portion of the celebration off. Alison and Sam, thank you for having us. It was a pleasure to work with you, your families and the wonderfully talented group of top Philadelphia wedding professionals you assembled. Congratulations to you both! Enjoy your wedding photos.
