The beginning of Caroline & Marshall’s wedding day was yet another wet one. It rained for almost our entire drive down to Cape May and it wasn’t looking as though there was any chance that the day would dry up for their wedding later that afternoon at Willow Creek Winery. So we did what we normally do on rainy wedding days and talked to Caroline & Marshall to assure them that there was nothing to worry about and that their entire day would still go as planned….maybe we would just have to take more photos than we planned to take indoors as opposed to outside in the vineyard. No problem. They would still have their ceremony and the reception in the ballroom at Willow Creek would still be incredible. But we didn’t expect Caroline’s parents’ home in Cape May to be as beautiful and photogenic as it was. We truly could have done almost all of the photos of the bride and groom in the living room alone, it was that great. As luck would have it however, the rain tapered off just as we were scheduled to start photos outdoors and by the time we all arrived to Willow Creek on Cape May Point there was a gorgeous low fog around the property that gave the setting and the photos a kind of other worldly vibe. Maybe this wasn’t what Caroline and Marshall had on their “vision boards” leading up to that day. But it was what we had that afternoon and it made their wedding day so different than any other wedding that we had done in the vineyard at Willow Creek. Caroline and Marshall, you guys rolled with whatever we were dealt on your wedding day and you two as well as your wedding party and families were so lovely to work with. Thank you guys for inviting us to document your entire wedding day from the rainy morning to the sweat drenched dance floor. We would definitely do it all again!
