A Luxurious Wedding at The Ivy at Ellis Preserve

Emily and Ed’s luxurious summer wedding at The Ivy at Ellis Preserve was a joyous celebration filled with cherished loved ones and infectious energy. We were originally connected with the happy couple through Ed’s mom, Luanne, who is a wedding planner with Tulip Hill Weddings. Our team has actually worked on several weddings with Luanne over the years, so it was the biggest honor that she referred us to her son and his fiancée, considering how many photography and videography businesses she’s encountered and worked with over the years. Right off the bat, I immediately clicked with Emily and Ed through our initial phone call; they were just so easy to talk to, quick to laugh and make jokes, and I could tell they are just overall an amazing couple to be around. We didn’t officially meet in person until the fall, when I photographed their engagement session. During this session, we really got to know one another as we created gorgeous photos surrounded by all the beauty and color of the autumn sunset.

On the wedding day, we started in the homes of the bride and groom as they prepared for their big day with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. On a morning filled with so many emotions, it was nice to see both Emily and Ed surrounded by their close friends and family as the day got underway amidst all of the activity.

The luxurious wedding ceremony took place not too far away at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The ceremony was filled with so much love and positive energy, it was palpable; everyone present could feel just how in love Emily and Ed are. Following the ceremony, we headed off to Finley Catering’s newest wedding venue, The Ivy at Ellis Preserve.

Before cocktail hour, I stole Emily and Ed away for some portraits with one another, as well as some with their wedding party around the grounds of The Ivy at Ellis Preserve. The modern backdrop of the brand new venue, as well as the Ivy League college-looking backdrops of the older buildings around, gave us so much variety to work with and made the newlywed couple just absolutely pop in the photographs. Once we finished with all of the portraits, we headed upstairs and out onto the porch for cocktail hour. This cocktail hour was the perfect bridge from dreamy ceremony to life of the party as they epically greeted all of their guests from the balcony as pyrotechnic flares shot off beside them. I mean, come on, what a way to get the party going!

This was our team’s first time at this incredible wedding venue, and let me just say…WOW!!! The Ivy is absolutely amazing and perfect for celebrating any event, especially one as grand as a wedding! And boy, did Emily and Ed make sure we all had the most luxurious and grand evening of our lives. They hired the amazing Jelly Roll, Philadelphia’s premier wedding band, to make sure everyone had the most unforgettable night of their lives. And what a night it was! After dinner, Emily changed into her “dancing” reception dress, and from that moment on, you couldn’t find her anywhere but the dance floor! 

Emily and Ed’s luxurious wedding at The Ivy was a remarkable experience, and it is one Emily, Ed, and their loved ones will never forget! We are incredibly honored to be a part of their family’s celebration, and we are thrilled to share these photos! Congratulations, Emily and Ed, we wish you all our best for a wonderful marriage and a lifetime of being dance partners!
