Alaina and Keir’s beautiful early fall wedding day was held at the historic Vincent Forge Mansion in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. This stunning venue held deep significance to Alaina and Keir, as the luxurious guest house that is tucked away in the serene Pennsylvania woods along the banks of the French Creek is owned by none other than Keir’s family! Keir’s father and his partner restored the 18th-century Chester County home, turning it into a historically charming sanctuary, a perfect spot for couples to host a romance-filled day. So when Alaina and Keir got engaged, there was no question about where they would be getting married; there was no place better than their (well, Keir’s dads) backyard!

Everything from getting ready to the ceremony, all the way through the reception, was held at this beautiful and historic mansion, and several people within the wedding party got the chance to stay at this charming home the night of the wedding! Alaina and Keir are very laid-back people and just wanted their special day to be easy, fun, and filled with family. All the girls did their own makeup together, while family friends assisted with hair and floral arrangements.

Once everyone was ready, we snuck Alaina and Keir away for their intimate first-look, before we started walking along the beautiful property to take some of their gorgeous wedding portraits. We made our way down to the French Creek to meet up with the wedding party to capture some energetic and fun-filled group photos.

By then, it was time for the romantic, outdoor wedding ceremony on the property of Vincent Forge Mansion. The ceremony was held under a beautiful tree, whose branch naturally made the perfect make-shift wedding arch for the couple, as Keir’s good friend officiated the ceremony. It was naturally the best setting for the vows and ring exchange. As the ceremony ended, the bride and groom recessed down the aisle to a shower of floral petals, which everyone was itching to throw at the newlyweds.

Following the ceremony, guests just walked up the hill for the cocktail hour to enjoy drinks and passed hors d’oevres. Everything was just so “go-with-the-flow”, which is exactly how the bride and groom wanted it. Guests of all ages mingled, ate, and played lawn games together. Just before everyone was invited to their seats, Alaina organized a group photo, so that we could get a few photos of EVERYONE in attendance!

Once the buffet dinner was concluded, the dance floor opened with Alaina and Keir performing a Scottish Ceilidh, which is a lively gathering centered around traditional Scottish and Irish music and dancing. Alaina and Keir had a Scottish relative act as “the caller”, who explained the ceilidh and instructed guests on how to dance. Alaina and Keir performed the ceilidh on their own, before inviting their wedding party to learn the dance on the spot and perform it in front of the entire reception as a group. The ceilidh was a great way to kick off the energetic and fun-filled reception. Guests spent the remainder of the night drinking and dancing under the warm tent and even the “drizzly” night sky.

Alaina and Keir were kind, easy to laugh with, very laid back, and open to any idea pitched to them! They were a pleasure to spend the day with, and it was a joy to photograph their love for one another. Their smiles and laughter all day were truly authentic, and their exuberance just came to them so naturally, it was very easy to tell how in love they are and just how excited they were to spend the rest of their lives together. Alaina & Keir, thank you for having us. We are so excited for you to see your photos. All our best to you both for a lifetime of happiness together.
