Kelsey & Josh’s outdoor wedding at Ron Jaworski’s Blue Heron Pines Golf Club in Egg Harbor from last fall was filled with beauty and emotion as you would expect from a wedding. But what we remember from their wedding day in New Jersey was THE PARTY! From the moment the reception kicked off there was just an all out baller of a dance party and it was sweaty and crazy…..as it should be. But let’s back up first. Kelsey came to us through her brother whom we have known for a few years from our local networking group. Brian had talked with me about “one day” when his sister was married how he would recommend her to us. That day finally came and we were thrilled that Kelsey and Josh also wanted to work with us for both their wedding photography and video. The day of the wedding was a cool early fall afternoon with a bit of a chill in the air. Kelsey & Josh both got dressed and ready onsite at Blue Heron Pines before their first look on a sandy pathway just off one of the fairways. We then took a golf cart to rip around (I mean, drive carefully around) the property as we took photos of the soon to be husband and wife all over the golf course and by the pond on the 14th hole. Once we met up with the wedding party and took some more fun and energetic photos of everyone in the shade of the large pines it was time for the ceremony on that patio located just off the club house. Our friend Brian walked his sister down the aisle in an emotional moment for everyone as Kelsey & Brian’s dad passed away before he could share this moment with his daughter. His spirit was felt all evening but particularly during the wedding ceremony as the sun peaked through the trees and touch everyone with a bit of warmth on the breezy afternoon.
Once the reception started Kelsey’s family surprised her with a special remembrance of her father which brought many of the family members to the dance floor in tears as they shared a group dance and hug. After the toasts by the best man and maid of honor it was time to party. And this crew knew how to do it right. Kelsey even brought a prop from her bachelorette weekend, a “BRIDE” hat that once it made its way to the dance floor never seemed to leave Kelsey’s head. She was almost transformed into like a “party” version of herself when that hat was on and it brought everyone out to celebrate with her. As a side note; if you want to have a reception that keeps everyone on the dance floor, make sure that you as the bride and groom are on that dance floor all night. All of your guests will join you and fill that dance floor at your wedding reception making it a party to remember. My wife and I never left the dance floor at our own wedding 15 years ago and to this day friends and family remember how much fun they had dancing with us at our wedding reception.
