A Cape May Wedding on the Beach | Super-8 film

Kristin & Andrew’s Cape May wedding on the beach from this past summer took place on a warm but breezy afternoon in New Jersey’s southern most beach town. If you’ve been following our blog over the years you’ll most likely know that we are big fans of Cape May weddings and we are fortunate enough to be invited to witness many of these beachside celebrations each year. Kristin & Andrew invited Caroline and myself down to document their intimate wedding on the beach with a reception on the roof deck of the Montreal Beach Resort Hotel. They kept the guest list to only their closest family and friends which gave the whole afternoon a very intimate, personal and relaxed feel. The wedding ceremony was literally just on the beach amongst the rest of the general beach goers on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Kristin & Andrew just wanted to have their ceremony be part of the scene in Cape May that day. I loved that there were people sunbathing and kids playing in the sand just a few feet from where Kristin & Andrew said their vows in front of their family. It was so unique and fun! After the casual ceremony we just walked about 10 feet away to take some family portraits and a few with the newlyweds before they walked across the street to join their cocktail hour on the roof deck overlooking the crashing waves. I don’t know that there has ever existed a more chill couple on their wedding day and it was a pleasure to embrace their enjoyment of just being a part of the day and letting it unfold naturally. Yes, they had a first dance and a couple toasts as formalities but other than that Kristin & Andrew just enjoyed the warmth of the sun, dancing, eating and spending time talking with their close family and friends. After an incredible sunset on the beach where Kristin & Andrew read privately written notes to each other along the water we all strolled back to the hotel for dancing under the bistro lights before the night came to a close. Kristin & Andrew, what a pleasure it was sharing in this day with you both. Thank you for inviting us into your crew for the day. We hope you love your Super-8 wedding film!
