Lifestyle Newborn Photos at Home in Lansdale | Montgomery County Newborn Photographer

Maura and Bob are back on the blog, and this time with the addition of their newborn baby boy! A few weeks before the little guy’s arrival, we photographed Maura and Bob’s maternity session with their extended family at Gwynedd Preserve in Montgomery County, so it was very exciting to see the family so soon! 

I met back up with Maura and Bob just before the winter holidays to photograph their baby boy in their cozy Lansdale, Pennsylvania home. We first started the session off in the nursery, just capturing the three of them for the first time as a family unit, before grabbing a few photos of the baby by himself. What made this newborn photo session even more special is that we were able to add in both sets of grandparents for some full extended family photos, as well as a handful of generation photos! We then headed into Maura and Bob’s bedroom to photograph some individual parent photos, as well as a few full-family portraits, making sure to include their fur-baby. 

At-home lifestyle baby photo sessions are always great, because we get to photograph you and your family in your most comfortable and familiar setting, allowing you guys to feel relaxed and free of stressing over how everyone is dressed and on their best behavior. You get to just relax and stay comfortable in your own home, which also helps the baby remain calm, happy, and safe. This is also the perfect time to host your family session in your home, as it truly reflects the ins and outs of your everyday life with a new baby. While it may feel ordinary and like a routine in the moment, trust me, in a year or two, this time of your life will feel almost unrecognizable, and you’ll look back on these precious family photos with a sense of awe and wonder. Later on, this transitional time period will feel like a whole other lifetime ago, and you’ll wonder when your little one got so big and how in the world you make it out of this in one piece! There is truly no better way to document this real, everyday life than to do it in the comfort of your home, surrounded by all of your favorite things. 

These calm, authentic family moments are what we really enjoy photographing. It’s all about capturing real life, as it is, through all the milestones! Life is constantly changing, and each phase is unique and beautiful in its own right. The nursery you spent weeks carefully preparing, the couch where you spend all your late nights feeding the baby, or the quiet moments by the window where your dog bathes in the soft, natural light — these are the details that make your family photos feel deeply personal for years and years.
