Spring Family Photos at Tamanend Park | Bucks County PA Toddler & Grandparents Session

One of the most special parts of my job is getting to see all of the beautiful families I’ve photographed grow and develop throughout the years. Whether it be from photographing a couple’s wedding and their newborn session a few years later, or just regularly updating a family’s photos now and then, it’s always heartwarming to see how your families change over the years.

I photographed Alex, Max, and their baby boy back in 2022 when he was just a newborn, and I was thrilled when they reached back out again this year to update their family photos! Now that their son is 18 months old, standing on his own, and has a fun, bubbly personality of his own, they wanted to switch it up compared to their newborn session and do an outdoor family photoshoot at their favorite local park. In addition to photographing Alex and Max’s little family, they also wanted to add in Alex’s parents (now, the proud grandparents), and her siblings, along with their own partners (and adorable puppy). I thought it was a great idea to involve the whole family, and it, of course, gave everyone the excuse to obsess over the toddler of the family even more than they already do!

We met at Tamanend Upper Southampton Park, located in Bucks County, on a beautiful early-June summer evening. I found some beautiful blossoming trees and wide, natural-open fields to use as our backdrops, which had some of the most gorgeous natural light that we, of course, had to take full advantage of! We started this summer family session with all of the posed family formals of everyone together before we delved into the smaller family groupings and the relaxed, candid photos of Alex and Max’s toddler. We, of course, always give the grandparents their time to shine during extended family photo sessions; they are the hierarchy of the family, after all! I photographed them with their firstborn grandson, whom they are very proud of and absolutely love to dote over. And I was even able to capture some loving portraits of just the grandparents together as a couple.

Getting to photograph this loving Bucks County family was a beautiful way to spend this summer evening, and we left with some great photos filled with memories that the family will be able to cherish and look back on for years and years to come. It’s always an honor when families invite me out to document their growing families, and I was so excited when Alex and Max reached out to capture this special time in their lives! I’m looking forward to getting to photograph them the next time, maybe when baby #2 comes along!
