Mackenzie & Ray’s Bohemia Manor Farm at Chateau Bu-De Vineyard wedding took us down to Maryland for (I think) the very first wedding that we have done in that state. We’ve photographed hundreds of weddings over the past 18 years in several states and a few different countries but this was the very first time we did a wedding in Maryland. And the Bohemia Manor Farm was breathtaking! What a gorgeous setting for a wedding. The winery and tasting room where Mackenzie & Ray’s reception took place was on a hillside overlooking the Bohemia River. Our jaws dropped when we took the couple out for sunset photos as the sun was setting over the water and we started to geek out at the possibilities we had here for countless incredible photos for Mackenzie & Ray. You can see some of these photos in the post below of course. But just know that these are some of our all time favorite wedding images we have created for any of our couples! In case you can’t tell, we absolutely loved Chateau Bu-De Winery as a wedding venue!

Now, after gushing over the wedding reception venue let’s back up a bit to discuss the earlier portion of the day and the meaning it had for Mackenzie & Ray. Their ceremony was held on the campus of their alma mater, The University of Delaware at the Newark United Methodist Church. Mackenzie & Ray had met as undergrads during their years as University of Delaware students so having their wedding ceremony on the campus where they first started their relationship was very meaningful for them. They even brought in one of their favorite UD traditions when they had a UDairy Creamery ice cream truck waiting for all of their guests outside of the church at the conclusion of the ceremony. I’m pretty sure that EVERYONE took an ice cream break before heading to Bohemia Manor Farm for the wedding reception. This is supposed to be some of the best ice cream in all of Delaware after all! Speaking of UD, this is in a way how Mackenzie came to use. She was a student of one of our great industry friends, Erin Proud of Proud to Plan. Erin has been a professor at UD for the past few years where she teaches a wedding planning course as she continues to run her own business Proud to Plan. When Mackenzie graduated and when she and Ray were planing their Delaware wedding she naturally tapped her former professor to plan her own wedding. And Erin brought our team in to photograph the day.

Mackenzie & Ray, you guys put together a very memorable wedding celebration….it was even quite outstanding for us as we enter our 18th year of photographing weddings! Thank you for trusting us to spend the day at your side capturing every last moment of one of the most memorable days of your lives. It was truly our pleasure to photograph your wedding. All our best for many, many years of happiness together!
