Chestnut Hill Philadelphia Engagement Photos | Romantic Fall Session

Emily and James’ romantic fall engagement session took place in one of our favorite Philadelphia neighborhoods, Chestnut Hill. Caroline met up with Emily and James in Pastoreous Park, which is right off of Germantown Ave., and took a lovely walk along the pond with the couple’s beloved poodle. The fall lighting this evening was incredibly romantic and dreamy, adding the perfect element to this Chestnut Hill engagement photoshoot. The golden light beautifully shone through the yellow and orange leaves of the trees, perfectly encapsulating the relaxation of fall in Philadelphia. 

After spending some time in the open space of Pastoreous Park, Emily and James made their way to the tree-lined streets and historic architecture of Germantown Ave. within Chestnut Hill. The couple leisurely strolled the romantic neighborhood, even stopping to take a break on some steps of a beautifully architectured building with their dog. They continued to wander amongst the cozy shops of Chestnut Hill, and stopped to take some photos against beautifully colored doors that are a quiet staple of the historic neighborhood. 

Chestnut Hill is honestly one of the most romantic places for an engagement photo session, because it’s one of the few Philadelphia neighborhoods that offers that authentic small-town feel. Chestnut Hill feels like its own pocket of the city, similar to Old City but on a more spread-out scale. This historic neighborhood is filled with true cobblestone streets and an array of local small businesses, where everybody seems to know everybody. This natural, small-town feel, paired with the warmth of the golden fall leaves and atmosphere, is what truly aids in the romance of the neighborhood.
