Family Photos at Rittenhouse Square | Fall Session in Center City Philadelphia

I absolutely love it when long-term clients begin to feel like old family friends. There’s something so unique about being there to witness and photograph all the big, important moments in a family’s life, as well as even the quiet, mundane periods a family goes through. This is certainly the case with Loni, Josh, and their family! 

We’ve known Loni and Josh for over a decade now…wow! We first met Loni during her sister’s stunning Lake House Inn wedding many years ago, before reuniting to photograph her and Josh’s own wedding a few years later. And then, I even had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Josh’s sister’s beautiful wedding at Glen Harbour Club a few years later! So I truly mean it when I say our history with this family runs deep, and I’ve seen lots of monumental moments within their family lineage. 

I was happy when we were able to schedule a family session, close to Loni and Josh’s home in Center City Philadelphia, in late November. We thankfully were able to squeeze in this beautiful fall family session with two young children just in time before everyone had to jet off to see their families for the holidays. I met up with the family in the iconic Rittenhouse Square the day before Thanksgiving, which, if you don’t know, is one of the most beautiful places in Philadelphia during the fall! During the peak fall season, Rittenhouse just truly comes alive with color and transforms into the most stunning backdrops you can find in the city. It gives us the perfect fall foliage, while still maintaining the authentic urban, city-life feel, and providing us with an array of varying backdrops. What makes Rittenhouse Square so unique is the fact that you can manipulate the scenery to show off the urban, vibrant city, or you can truly make the photographs look and feel like the countryside. 

Fall family photo sessions in Philadelphia always result in some of the most beautiful and cozy photos. The fall season just grants us so much to work with, and they occur right before the temperature becomes uncomfortable for the kids (and let’s be honest, for the adults too!) The stunning fall weather allows everyone to keep spirits high while smiling, laughing, and looking and feeling their absolute best! This is just one of the many reasons we love photographing Philadelphia families during the peak of the fall season.
