Twinning Valley Park is one of our favorite, most hidden gem locations for engagement photo sessions in Montgomery, PA. The location is just minutes away from Ambler, Blue Bell, and Fort Washington, making it easily accessible to people in various areas of Montgomery County. Many people may also not realize just how close to the city it is! The park is only about 10 minutes outside of Philadelphia, located near the western border of the city and the Chestnut Hill area. Twinning Valley Park is big (but not huge), and has lots of different types of photo-ready backdrops that really create an aesthetic and consistent variety within an engagement photo session. The park has everything from tall trees to ornamental grasses, to large hills with rocky outcroppings, and of course, the thin walkable trails; truly allowing for a vast variety within one photo session! And if I’m being honest, the gorgeous sunsets that take place over the edge of the park are maybe the top reason why I love this location so much. There’s one specific area within Twinning Valley where the sun sets just perfectly and creates some of the most incredible photos, especially for an engagement session.
When Angelina and Kai first inquired with me about setting up their spring engagement session, I knew Twinning Valley Park was just the place for them! On a beautiful evening in May, we strolled through the Montgomery County park and stopped for photos whenever it felt natural and right. They were a very easy-going couple who easily forgot about the camera after just a few minutes. Angelina and Kai really embraced the idea of an engagement photo session being a light, relaxing, and fun time that just gave them an excuse to spend even more time together. During their spring engagement session, we really utilized the park’s unique ornamental grasses, as they created the most perfect, romantic setting for Angelina and Kai. It was like they were getting lost in the moment and forgetting that they were having their photograph taken.
Angelina and Kai’s wedding is actually coming up in about three weeks, which, honestly, many couples would view as cutting it a little close to be doing an engagement session so close to the wedding day, but we were able to squeeze them in and make time for the lovely couple. For the most part, the majority of couples will try to choose the opposite season of their wedding for their engagement session. Scheduling your engagement session months before the wedding also allows you to utilize the photos for all the big moments leading up to the wedding (and even on the day of the wedding), like your save the date cards, the wedding invitations, the wedding guest book, etc. However, if you truly just want to document some of your last days as fiancés, before the newlywed stage, like Angelina and Kai, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that!
I’m truly looking forward to Angelina and Kai’s wedding in just a couple of weeks at The High Point in Malvern, Pennsylvania! This is one of Robert Ryan Catering’s unique wedding venues, and we always love working with the team there, who take wonderful care of the couples who host events at their venues.
